The U.S. fertility rate, i.e. the number of children projected to be born to a woman in her lifetime, has declined in 10 of the past 11 years since 2007. (Source: World Bank) The rate was 2.12 children in 2007, while the most recent data available from 2018 shows a decrease down to 1.73 children.

What, if any, impact could the COVID-19 lock down have on U.S. birth rates?
