The three most popular states to move to in 2020 were Tennessee, Texas and Florida. The rankings are based upon 2M plus rentals of moving trucks last year that involved a “1 way” interstate move. (source: U-Haul Migration Trends 2020)
Interestingly in 2019, 42% of the new jobs created nationally occurred in just three states: Texas, California and Florida (source: Department of Labor). According to the U-Haul study noted earlier, California was ranked in the top 3 states with the greatest outflow of people.
