According to the U.S. Department of Labor, as of the end of September 158 million Americans had full-time jobs and 6 million Americans were out of work. Another 166 million are either too young to have a job or they are retired.
Of the full-time group, 77% of private sector workers had access to and participated in employer provided retirement benefits. 91% of public sector workers had access to and participated in employer provided retirement benefits.
