What's the Matter with Men?

According to a recent Wall Street Journal article (4/30/2019), only 60% of men go to the doctor for a routine check up.  The most common reasons given for not going to the doctor: #1 I only go to the doctor if I’m extremely sick, #2 I am healthy – I have no reason to go and #3 I’m afraid of learning that something is wrong with me.

Life expectancy from birth has gradually increased for men and women since the early 1900’s.  No surprise here that gap has widened and men are dying about five years sooner than women.

Time for men to stop avoiding going to the doctor and skipping recommended screenings, so we can try and close the longevity gap.
